If you follow my socials, you probably saw I tweaked my lower back. Yep—it happens. Like many of you, I deal with low back, hip, hamstring, and shoulder issues.
When something flares up, many people turn to painkillers, doctors, or self-medicating. When it happened to me, I went straight to my chiropractor. I know not everyone is sold on chiropractic care, but as a yoga instructor, I’ve learned that when we truly listen to our bodies, we’re better able to care for them.
My chiropractor explained the why behind my pain—how muscles compensate, what might’ve caused the issue, and how to support healing. He also gave me a few exercises to help get back to feeling like myself.

It wasn’t the quick fix we often want, but it was a shift in perspective: a mix of immediate care and long-term prevention. I took what I learned and applied it to my yoga practice. I became more aware of how my body responded and focused on strengthening key muscles that support and protect the body’s structure—making future injuries less likely.
That’s exactly why I added the Stretch Class to my schedule. I wanted to offer a space for others dealing with similar concerns to practice intentional, preventative care. It won’t eliminate all injuries—but it can reduce their frequency and duration.

This class works the entire muscle group, from outer fascia to deep tissue. The techniques come from Lucas Rockwood of Yogabody, designed to build mobility and range of motion. We explore just 12 poses, each held for at least two minutes. Yes—two, making this is as much of a mental practice as it is physical.
The focus?
Common “problem areas” like hips, hamstrings, shoulders, and lower back.
The goal?
Strength, flexibility, and fewer injuries.
If you—or someone you know—is dealing with mobility, stiffness, or the realities of an aging body, I’d love for you to join us. Public classes are Thursdays at 6 p.m., followed by Restorative Yoga (which I highly recommend). I also offer private sessions, in person or online for those who prefer the work in the comfort of their home.
